What this means for people

A higher figure means more goods and services were produced for each person.

How to read this

Per person, not total output

Total output can rise just because there are more people. This figure takes that out.

After inflation

ONS shows this in 2024 prices, so earlier quarters can be compared with later ones. A rise is more output, not higher cash prices.

Population figures can be projections

Recent quarters use population projections as well as estimates. A revision can come from GDP rather than from the population.
